About
The Putangirua Pinnacles are a series of limestone spires that rise out of the ground in the Wairarapa region of New Zealand. They are formed from the erosion of ancient seabeds, and are a popular tourist destination for their unique appearance.
The Pinnacles are located in the Putangirua Pinnacles Scenic Reserve, which is managed by the Department of Conservation. There are a number of walking tracks in the reserve, ranging from easy to challenging. The most popular track is the Pinnacles Track, which is a 1.5km loop track that takes you past the Pinnacles.
