Mount Tauhara Track

The Mount Tauhara Track is a popular hiking trail in the Taupo region of New Zealand. The trail takes hikers to the summit of Mount Tauhara, a dormant volcano that offers stunning views of Lake Taupo and the surrounding mountains.

The Mount Tauhara Track is a 2.8-kilometre round-trip hike. The track is well-maintained and suitable for all ages and fitness levels, but it is important to note that the trail is quite steep in places. The hike to the summit takes around 1 hour and 15 minutes.

At the summit of Mount Tauhara, hikers will find a crater lake and a viewing platform that offers panoramic views of the surrounding area. On a clear day, hikers can see Lake Taupo, the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, and even Mount Ruapehu.
