U kunt niet rijden naar deze camping, maar u kunt de weg en parkeren net voor en na de ingang van het spoor naar de site en wandelen 10 minuten, of fietsen naar deze waterfront tent site. De site heeft een keuken schuilplaats en lange drop toilet evenals taps waarschuwen u om te koken water voor het drinken. De site is direct naast een paar leuke wandelpaden, een gemakkelijke naar Kauri vallen of een meer uitdagende wandeling naar een oude houtmolen & walvisvissen station of de tramlijn tracks. Geen verkeer hier, gewoon het geluid van de vogels en vissen springen.

This campsite is not boat access only. We got dropped off at the road and watched the 15 minute track to the camping area. It overlooks the Whangaparapara estuary. It is near the hot springs which we didn't check out as it was a much farther walk than we anticipated. There is a sign that says there is glass in one of the hot springs. Water must be boiled here. One long drop toilet. Thousands of mosquitoes. Be prepared for that. If you walk past the wharf, around the rocks, there is a cave and lots of beautiful crystals. It was the highlight for me. The highlight for my sister was the fishing. Stunning spot. But just be prepared, because it is a mission to walk to the closest town. Locals are awesome though, hitchhiking encouraged.
