Prachtige ontdekking, ik ben blij dat ik hier ben gekomen, hoewel Katikati voelt als een soort willekeurige stop voor de nacht. Alleen een andere, laat aankomende auto kwam. Het park is de moeite waard een wandeling rond of een yoga sessie etc., dus ideaal om wat tijd hier te nemen. Locals wandelen of fietsen door, zeer rustige en vriendelijke sfeer. Toiletten zijn schoon genoeg, maar gelegen op de kleine heuvel aan de andere kant van de weg.

28Apr2026: Car park for up to 5 self-contained vehicles. Located in the middle of the town, but entrance is a bit hidden and the surroundings are very quiet. We got there at 6 pm and It was empty. We spent a peaceful night.

The entrance is somewhat hidden behind the café. It's a lovely, quiet spot in a well-maintained park. The area marked in yellow on the map can accommodate five vehicles. We were the only ones there, along with just one other campervan. At night, some teenagers drove by in a car and tried to scare us with strange noises. We thought it was ridiculous, but it would certainly be unpleasant for women traveling alone. Around 8 a.m. the next morning, a large group of volunteers gathered in the parking lot.

A beautiful and peaceful spot, not close to the main road which is a plus. Restrooms across the road open until late (or maybe all night). There were only three of us in campers. A great place to spend the night.

Hebben op zoek naar een plek voor eeuwen in deze regio en vond dit verborgen juweel. vrij weinig plaats met ruimte in de avond! Toiletten in de buurt en een mooi paar. zeker aanbevolen!😍

Verborgen maar zeer aangename freecamp! Draai voor het café, net na de DIY-winkel, het is een korte doorgang. Er zijn schone toiletten over de straat. Super mooie plek, er was 1 ander voertuig dan ons. Winkels op loopafstand (café, supermarkt, enz.). Korte ontspannen wandeling langs Haiku Park. Wifi punt op het café net boven (zeer goede muffins en lattes!)

Een aangenaam verblijf aan een prachtige rivier en park, zeer dicht bij het stadscentrum.Het is een super rustige plek voor de nacht, en de toiletten zijn ongeveer 200m verwijderd, gemakkelijk bereikbaar.

A bit hidden behind the cafe. Very quiet parking lot directly at the park and creek. Was there alone. More cars came at night? who were gone again in the morning. Gladly again

Lovely spot as previous comments. Park is room for cars or vans (not big enough for larger motorhomes unfortunately)

Quiet little spot, and we were the only ones there. Really quiet but around 3am I heard a car or cars and some lights. Might be police or the council doing their rounds ? Either way it was ok.
