Als je een plek kunt vinden die eruit ziet alsof het zijn permanente en parkeerplaats naast de stofige weg met motorfietsen en duinen buggies vliegen voorbij.

Definately one to miss, a very small unkempt area for camping, stayed for a quick 10 min walk on stoney washing machine shore break beach and hightailed it out of there. Difficult to find in that marker on nzma map is not accurate, won't be back to this one

A bit difficult to find, but once you get to the huts area, take the top road, which is a narrow gravel road then drop down past some houses till you get to the camping area on your left. Small area with semi permanent caravans there, possibly just for the salmon season. Free to stay but a $5 donation box set up by toilet, which were very clean and tidy when we were there.

Not very pleasant. Small grassed area with overflowing bins and smelly toilet.

This gives instructions to the southern side of the Rakai river mouth settlement in the Dorie area of Ashburton. You will need to follow Kingsbury road to the camp ground. The Rakai Huts settlement is on the northern side of the river South east of Southbridge at the end of Pacific drive.

Drive right on into the hut village, their is a large sign, read the top line. It tells you where to park at the campsite. NOT a big site, permanent caravans take up a lot of space. Water available & a toilet block. Short walk to the beach, but the river seemed elusive, lot of locals had quad bikes. Best during weekdays and avoid weekend gatherings
