Een prachtige rit, wandeling en uitzicht vanaf de kleine berg met een prachtig landschap, zelfs op een bewolkte dag. U moet verdedigend gaan, zelfs als u geen loteriefhebber bent! Ongeveer 1 uur rijden van Mount Somers Village met 40 minuten van de grindweg (een behoorlijk goede grindweg). Vanaf het parkeerterrein is het een 20 minuten lopen op platte grond en vervolgens 20 minuten omhoog de berg.

Opmerkingen over de grindweg zijn niet grappig, het is een zware reis, maar het is zeker de moeite waard, de meest verbazingwekkende setting en alles om je heen ziet er niet alleen uit als de film, maar als de beschrijvingen in het boek. ik denk dat het de meest onderdompelende filmsite is die ik heb bezocht. zou een hoed of sjaal aanbevelen om over je oren te zetten omdat het erg windig is op de top.

Road is open now. Gavel road is pretty bad at few points and there is one big ford. Be careful specially after rainy day

There are 24km gravel road, the 10km to Lake Clearwater are good passable but the rest is pretty bad: /

Best place in New Zealand, just amazingly beautiful area. Camped in the parking lot because we arrived late. But please only self-contained, take your trash with you. One must take care of this indescribably beautiful landscape!
