We rijden naar de parkeerplaats, het is een smalle grindweg maar prima voor een camper van. De topwandeling is de paars-hoogtebaan en het is verbazingwekkend! Beste wandeling slechts 1-2 uur naar boven de steile weg eerst! Het uitzicht over akaroa is mindblowing.

Ik zou voorstellen om te rijden naar de parkeerplaats in de buurt van de lodge en beginnen van daar, maar LET OP de weg om er te komen is erg smal en steil en heeft 2 tracks die uw wielen moeten blijven of anders kunt u vastzitten. Mooie wandeling met een prachtig uitzicht! Het krijgt vrij hard in de buurt van het einde en steil en omringd door gorse maar ik heb genoten!

Average views, better from the car on the drive down to Akaroa in my opinion. The summit track is very overgrown with gorse and not really achievable unless covered up (comments book in shelter confirms our experience). No shade so take lots of water. Maybe do it for the exercise and jump in the sea after? As there are no showers (or decent beer) in the town.

We have done this walk (the 4hour version) on a hot and sunny day. The last few meters were really exhausting, but all in all its a very nice walk. The yellow flowers smell all like mango and the breathtaking view at the top was the reward for the last meters nearly climbing through the prickly plants.

I drove up the Stony Peak Road till the top where a little car park was. The road was mostly a winding, narrow gravel road. From the car park it was an easy 1 hour return walk to the Summit.

Beautiful view and very peaceful place. U can see dolphins sometimes and very nice place to have a picnic

Goederentips. auto parkeren na een beetje hard rijden. Na het volgen van paars lek weg en witte verf op de top op de houten stokken. ik begin met de top wandelen door de skyline (lang) en na de top, ga naar beneden door Tata trek, en paripai shortcut. 3h. zeer mooi.
