Good spot off the beaten path. Didn’t fill up the night we were here. No toilet nearby so go here after you have emptied the tank.

We couldn’t find any other free camping site. Good to just one night stay. No toilet.

just a big gravel area, could easily fit 20 vans but no spots delimitations, so some selfish people are really just taking 2-3 spaces just for themselves 🤡

Few pitches, no food or equipment, sufficient for spending the night when other campsites are full.

Nice views of the mountains, marked out spots for 20 vehicles which are spacious. Arrived at 7 and still a few spots left. No facilities.

Decent amount of parking spaces, would recommended getting there around 5-6, fills up around 8. No immediate amenities, but if you are happy to brave a 15 min walk down the hillside, there is a public toilet and cold shower in a little hut by the beach. Don’t expect luxury but does the job!

Unfortunately, we cannot stay here for the night. We bought a CSC green sticker campervan for 12k$ but our toilet is fixed *under* the bed. Because of the signs I decided to write an email to the district council explaining our setup with the fixed toilet. We basically need to lift a wooden lid which is a part of the bed. to get access. They responded that we‘ll probably be fined $400 if we‘d stay in the carpark overnight. Unless your toilet is not under your bed you shouldn‘t stay in this city!

Nice and quiet spot with a view on the mountains. FYI the local authorities came by to check on the vans parked as it’s a self contained vans only.

Boycott it! It's the only place where they're so strict about free camping. I was so excited to stay two days, but all they got was me going to spend money in Christchurch, all for a toilet that was basically just a piece of wood. So regrettable!
