Beautiful place to relax and unwind. Stayed 2 nights paid nothing for a permit online. Alot of places to park.

Mooi schilderachtig uitzicht op het strand om wakker te worden, maar zeer lawaaierig als direct naast een hoofdweg. Spuiten toiletten met douches. Tik voor het wassen van gerechten, niet drinkwater. Dump station. Moet een vergunning hebben ingediend bij de raad voor het kamperen.

Een mooi uitzicht en recht op het strand, maar ook op een drukke weg. Veel gebroken glas en veel vuil. Het is niet opgeruimd in een tijdje, omdat veel afval begraven is in het zand. Een van de slechtste stranden die ik in NZ heb geweest. Ik ben blij dat ik de volledige $ 18 niet heb gedoneerd zoals aanbevolen. Op basis van deze locatie zou ik voorstellen dat de raad van Gisborne buiten camperbezoekers ontmoedigt. Het heeft zoveel potentieel. Draag schoenen. Breng geen kinderen of dieren mee. Niet goed.

Ik heb gemengde gevoelens over Gisborne Council en hoe ze hun eigen sites niet beheren wanneer we $ 18 per nacht moeten betalen.

An amazing stopover on the coast. Toilets and rubbish with permit. So close to Gisborne but road busy with logging. Stay 2 nights and chill.

Closed outside of daylight savings, gorgeous drive along the coast though.

There are two zones - one from Sept to April and one from 26 Dec to 1 Feb. It isn’t clear where the second zone starts so we parked close to the toilets (and others were parked further along than us) but were approached by a friendly council officer in the morning to tell us we were in the wrong place. So our advice is to stay on the other side of river to be sure.

Not a good place to turn up at if you are an overseas visitor just traveling independtly, having to book these places needs too much foresight and is too difficult to plan if you have only limited time.

This is a lovely spot, but not great if you want a quiet nights sleep. The logging trucks were roaring past all night.

Beautiful spot! Gorgeous sunset! We stayed closer to the point end. It's basically a thin strip between the road and beach, road very busy due to time of year probably. Still, very lucky to turn up and get a space for 2 families on New Year's Day!
