Elvy Waterfalls track is a nice little walk. The first waterfall has glow worms (although it has to be darker for you to be able to see their glow, otherwise you just see their “bait lines”). I did this in the rain (wear shoes with good tread as there’s roots & clay/mud) and it was beautiful (not cold either). Would’ve do the Trig K to make a loop but decided not to as there’d be no view today. The wild venison pie at the cafe was amazing! (& soooo cheap).
Great spot but overcrowded by kids with floating animals ?
Great place! We did the Trig K walk up, is doable for anyone in a medium fitness. Not 4 hrs as mentioned, a bit less and the views are over the valley.
This is a really great walk. Went after lots of rain and was still manageable. Also, we jumped into the 2nd waterfall (if you’re adventurous enough!) muddy and some small river crossings so keep that in mind. Overall great stop! Nice there’s a cafe near.
Best swim here in NZ!! Really loved it
Suspension bridge is currently closed for repairs. Recommend the waterfall walk near the cafe. Was easy to get to both waterfalls for 6 & 8 year old.
Nice place under the bridge to jump into the water. There is cheap ice cream across the street in the café.
Went today when it’s was raining and we couldn’t see the second waterfall Because there is too much water. But the walk is really nice, a bit muddy today. Took us 1.30 hr return.
Walked to the first waterfall at dusk. While the waterfall is dry, we had a lovely showing of many glow worms. Also, not sure but we tho lane saw a kiwi along the way!
Really nice bridge and walkways. It is worth to stop there if you pass it.
