Be aware that despite there being 10 marked bays in the section of this parking area where Freedom Camping is permitted, only 8 vehicles may legally park AND all must be between the two FC signs, one of which is NOT at the edge of the section! In the dark this is easy to miss. Making only 8 out of 10 bays in the section available for FC is nonsensical - but that’s the typical mentality of NZ councils!🤯

Very very small spaces, unbelievably loud music at 5.10 am and someone bangig at her own car

8 redelijk kleine ruimtes aan het einde van de parkeerplaats in de buurt van de laundromat. Voltooid vrij snel na 5. Dicht bij bars, restaurant & zeefront. Muziek kon worden gehoord aan & uit in de vroege ochtend- maar niet te luid, anders geen problemen!

It's fine for one night, a bit noisy next door but not too late. The toilets are a bit far but very clean. 8 spaces in total

Allowed for 2 nights, good location and quiet at night. During the day the car park fills up and there's a lot of activity. A 24-hour laundromat in the car park was great for drying our rain-soaked clothes. Parking spaces fill up quickly after 5 pm. Restrooms are a block away but close around 8 pm. A few blocks away is the Marina restroom, open 24 hours. Restaurants and pubs open until after 11 pm are just a few minutes away. Very convenient location.

8 spots, arrived almost 6pm on a Sunday and there were a couple of spots left. It's right in the middle of town. Laundromat nearby. Toilets are a bit of a walk away and are closed at night. As others have mentioned, music was playing on and off from early morning.

Okay spot for the night- in the back of a car park with 8 total parking spots available. A bit noisy early in the AM with random music, but short walk to the town center and a 24 hour laundromat (takes cc) right in the car park.

Vreemd luide muziek om 6:30 uur. ik weet niet hoe de lokale bevolking dit verdraagt.

Niet de leukste plek maar deed het werk toen andere campings waren vol. Toiletten zijn aan de achterkant van de iSite

Helaas zijn de toiletten erg ver weg en zijn ze 's nachts gesloten, geen douches in de buurt en veel lawaai 's nachts, vooral vanwege, denk ik, aan een sportschool die groepslessen biedt vanaf de ochtend.
