Best campsite so far. Hot showers with very strong water pressure. Everything is very clean. Large, well-equipped kitchen area with refrigerator, freezer, and oven.

Three beautiful campgrounds with views of the sea. The kitchen is also great. The owner is very arranging and borrowed us pellet to go to make our hole in the sand. He also provides kayak. Of course our best campsite on the North Island.

Nice little campground. Owner lives on site. So no issues with noise. Feel safe and sound. Free spades for hot water beach.

Honestly, as a woman traveling alone, go for it without hesitation. Everything is clean, the people are friendly, and the view is incredible. If you ask, the owner will tell you exactly what time to go to the hot water beach and will even provide you with a shovel. It's a peaceful and amazing place!

This campsite is by far the best we've stayed at during our six-week New Zealand vacation. The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. At $40 including electricity for a two-person campervan, the price is absolutely fair. There are free kayaks available for exploring the inlet. On our first evening, we were even treated to fresh smoked fish he had caught that day. The site is quiet and just a five-minute drive from Hot Water Beach, where free shovels are also provided. Highly recommended!

The owner was at a birthday party and the place was actually fully booked, but after a quick phone call, I was able to stay. The kitchen was superbly equipped, there was a lounge, and a toilet.

$20 per person, facing the sea. Toilets, hot showers, Wi-Fi and even a jacuzzi!! Kitchen with toaster, oven, microwave, kettle... The best paid campsite we've been to.

We hielden absoluut van deze plek. De gastheer en zijn metgezel waren zo vriendelijk en gastvrij. Ze vangen een heleboel snappers en deelden het met iedereen. Vers en gerookt 😋 Het kamp was ruim, plat en netjes gesneden met uitzicht op het water. Kawhia is een prachtig klein stadje vol geschiedenis met een klein museum aan het water en een wharf. Waitangi dag in het park was echt zoet met alle lokale bevolking die uitkwam voor een aantal geweldige kai. 👌 😋 Kawhia was ons eerste kamp op onze reis, en zeker de beste.

Het uitzicht is verbazingwekkend van de meeste sites. Faciliteiten zijn rustiek Hooks ontbreken in toiletten, douchebaden spuiten water overal. Alleen in staat om één hand tegelijk nat te maken Bins overstroomd, BBQ's zijn vuil, onbruikbaar. Keuken vuil. Niet veel in Kawhia. Voelde alsof we in de film Deliverance waren. Koop supermarkten voordat je er bent. Alles gesloten op maandag. De eigenaar loopt rond met het aanbieden van ppl vis dat hij heeft gevangen die is heerlijk en gratis kajakken. Het uitzicht is geweldig
