One of the most beautiful tracks on both islands. There are various routes to choose from. The tracks are easy—they mostly follow contour lines, with gentle ascents and descents and no steep slopes. I really enjoyed them, with a few mini steps, some river crossings, and a short stretch along railroad tracks, which was also fun. There are signs with information about the local mine. I recommend stopping here, we were completely alone in the parking lot. You can sleep in the parking lot - SC only

Mooie wandelingen van 30min tot 4+ uur. Was heel druk toen we er middernacht dus het zou goed zijn om vroeg te gaan als het parkeerterrein snel kan worden vol. We las alle informatieborden als we gingen en vond het echt interessant. Veel te leren over het gebied. Was super cool om de oude spoorlijnen intact te zien.

Veel mooi uitzicht en wandelingen (van 5 minuten tot 5 uur) Wees voorzichtig als het regent er zijn enkele wandelingen die je niet kunt doen

Een aantal wallen variërend van gemakkelijk tot middelmatig moeilijk. Krijg eerst een kaart van het Te Aroha-informatiecentrum. Prachtig heldere stroom op het autopark. Batterijstempels overblijven op het autopark. Volg de wandelingen naar de spoorwegen, tunnels en helling. Perfect voor gezinnen met jongere kinderen. Carpark is misschien niet veilig om 's nachts te kamperen wanneer de hoons soms naar buiten komen om te spelen.

We went hiking for 2 hours. Nice if you have the time but not a must do of the region in my opinion. The best part was the one that runs along the old rails. No particular difficulty.

Not many comments so I'll add one. Just did it today, it was definitely worth going ! many tracks available for all levels, we didn't go all the way to the top but still did 2 hours. And all along the way there are little mining things (rails, caves, machines) to enjoy

Native bush walks with a variety tracks taking as long or as short as time available. Stout shoes needed.Historical gold mines from 1881 & the rail lines & steep inclines (3) to explore. Definitely worth a look.
