Gorgeous spot with beautiful sunset and sunrise views. The beach is beautiful and ok fishing. Right next to the train tracks so a bit of a sleepless night with the trains going through.

Kvinnen veileder kom til vår van (en ford transit) og fortalte oss at hun trodde vårt grønne kort var en falsk (selv om inspisert og utstedt av NZMCA) ønsket å se vårt papirarbeid verifisere det. Fortalt henne at hun kunne sjekke på online registeret og hun sa at hun ikke hadde sin telefon. også spurte oss om vi var NZMCA medlemmer så måtte ta henne og peke på vår klistremerke og tall. Hun ønsket å komme inn og inspisere vårt toalett sett opp.

Jeg ser noen av titewads klager over Sandpit ikke være gratis. C'mon du meanies, du'e leve livet av relativ frihet, så ikke være så elendig. Dette stedet er fantastisk. Virkelig vennlige Custodians, Steve, Max og Barbara. En dag kommer kommersielle fiskere vil bli forbudt fra å voldta bukten, så vent til da hvis du er virkelig ivrig etter å få fisk. Det er vanskelig å gå akkurat nå. Tog, vel hva du forventer fra tog, de er støyende, og kult. Love 'em eller hate 'em.

Beautiful beachside campground. Well maintained, clean, and large clearly marked sites. Friendly and really helpful hosts. Direct access to beach. Dog friendly. Allowed my brother and his wife to stay for lunch at no extra charge. Only accepts cash. Will definitely be back. Dog thought he was in heaven

We stopped here to cook lunch on our way past. What a lovely place, on the beach and very happy for us to stop for an hour at no charge! Beautifully kept up! Thank you team.

Close to beach, plenty of room. Tidy site. Trains are a bit noisy but don’t come thru often.

Nice spot right on the beach. Unfortunately there is some permanent campers residing there who have noisy generators going at all times of the day and up to 10.30pm. We noted that they were NZMCA members but had no regard for the rules
