Quiet campsite on the weekend. Had two kitchens/bathroom blocks and the showers were hot and decent pressure ($2/4min). Nice cooktops, was a lack of chairs but had a big table, so we brought our campchairs down. Got battered by the wind, but because you could choose your spot, we were pretty sheltered. The flying fox was cool, and there seems to be a few playground spots for the kids. Nice beach to walk down, and you can even do a cliff walk along the old wharf road, you can see remnants a jetty

Beautiful place 1 min walk to the beach. Everything clean and tidy. Hardly anyone there but we're getting into winter, I imagine it would be super popular in summer. Hot showers ($), power, laundry ($4), kitchen, fridges, plus more. Very welcoming. Great for kids as they have an amazing playground. Definitely will be back.

Really spacious, green campsite right by the water. You can pick your spot and the facilities were really clean. Just remember your own drinking water. The office keeps coins on site for the showers & laundry. Highly recommend!

Stunning campsite on one of the best and safest beaches we’ve been to in NZ. Remote, but with fridge, gas cookers, chargers, freezer etc - amazing! Lots of room. We were surrounded by a mix of families, couples and young people giving it a nice buzz. Facilities very clean.

Loved this spot, what beautiful grounds right on the beach. Really good facilities too, warm poweful shower (2$/4min) good washer and dryer for laundry (4$ per machine) and really lovely staff. Only downside was that the whole bay doesnt have drinking watet so had to boil or filter our drinking water but thats only a minor issue. Great stay!

We stayed there for two nights, very nice campsite! The only odds are that you have to bring your own drinking water since otherwise you need to boil the water there for 3 minutes. All facilities were really clean and you can also choose your spot to stay which was nice! I would recommend to book before especially if you’re planning to go on a weekend! Another rec is to do the 30min walk to little Okains Bay, it‘s stunningly beautiful! Would go there again!

If there’s any place you want to stay in Akaroa region this is your place. Super remote, friendly staff, amazing surroundings, great beach, and only for $34 per night. Bring your own fresh water! Playground was much appreciated by our kids.
