Now a free campsite but the grass is really high, no phone reception, the toilets are inaccessible and the place is terrifying ! We both had this feeling of being observed, and this feeling that we had to leave, feeling we never had in any other campsite, we stayed there for 4 hours and then we had to leave because something wasn’t right.

Recently, I drove past on my way to visit Lake Taylor. This is no longer a paid or maintained campground. It's really only suitable for SC vehicles as I don't know about the condition of the toilet. Needs to be changed to reflect this.

Vi bodde her 19. og 20. mars. Fabelaktig campingplass med ren, ikke-stinkende langdrop loa. Ringte mobiltelefonen # på skiltet og ordnet betaling. Vi bodde 2 netter med 8m karavan, unhitched og tok en dagstur innlands til Lake Taylor. God tilstand gravel vei, ca 45mins reise. The Hogget cafe i Hawarden serverer god kaffe og smakfulle scones.

Vi var de eneste menneskene her, vanskelig å finne ut hvordan å betale. Mye plass og en fin spasertur ned til elven. Gresset var kne høy på steder.

Awesome place to stay. Was very quiet. Has a toilet on site. Need your own toilet paper. No water but the river water is drinkable.

Spacious campground with lovely private spots under the trees. Just off the tar seal before the Waitohi bridge. Lovely cabins for rent too. Toilet is a well maintained and cleaned long drop. Water available too. Great value!

It's got a purple symbol but it is $5 per site per night no matter how many people. Also has cabins people can stay in with beds :)
