We arrived in the middle of the night and had trouble finding the entrance. The toilets were clean, and it was busier on weekends. Waking up to the sound of the sea was lovely!

Amazing spot right by the ocean with plenty of space to park your van. We felt very safe staying here. There are two clean flushing toilets with toilet paper and a sink. Drinking water is also available. The views are beautiful and the whole place has a really nice, relaxed atmosphere. Great place for a peaceful overnight stay.

Showed up just before 8pm and there were still plenty of spots, we got one right on the beachside. There’s lots of space, so campers were decently spread out. Bathrooms have sinks and are clean enough. Beautiful spot! And perfect place to watch the sunrise.

Right on the beach which is lovely but this was the only campsite during our five week trip we felt a little unsafe in. There was an unfriendly security guard who shouted at us at around 8pm to say we were parked in an area we shouldn’t be (there was no obvious way of being able to tell where you can and can’t park) - we had a sleeping baby in the Campervan which we told her but she took no notice and was quite rude. We had to move and park in a different area.

Very awful location. people are running around here with legs, there are broken cars around and it looked like some people are actually living there.

Great spot next to a pebble type beach. Plenty of room for vans - quiet at night - great to sleep just metres from the beach and crashing waves.

The best free camping in all Hawkes Bay. Always with space for your Van. Nice toilets and incredible sunrise. We came here many times.

Great free camp spot right by the sea. Quiet. Two toilets, they run out of paper by morning & no hand soap. All good cos its free so bring your own.

Quite a large space, also quite a lot of people but still quiet. Next to the road, but when you're parked up next to the ocean that does not bother you at all! Some people look like they are here more permanently, but also plenty of people staying for one night. Clean toilets and beautiful views
