A truly beautiful location, right on the lake, with plenty of space and a fantastic view. Absolutely fantastic. The owner is very warm and welcoming. The glowworms nearby are fascinating. The toilets and showers are clean, so no problem. We had no major problems getting there with our campervan (3.60 m wide and 7.80 m long). It is quite narrow for about 800 meters, though, so it's a good idea to call ahead to avoid oncoming traffic.

På vei til campingplassen oppdaget vi at veien var stengt og ikke ville åpne igjen i ytterligere tre timer. Etter å ha kontaktet campingplassen for å kansellere vår bestilling, tilbød de ingen hjelp i det hele tatt. Receptionisten hadde ingen intensjon om å kansellere bestillingen og var helt ubehagelig. Vi måtte vente et sted til veien åpnet igjen. Heldigvis fant vi en annen campingplass.

Fantastisk beliggenhet, men toalettblokken og i mindre grad dusjblokken var skitten. Vi bodde i tre netter, ved ankomst toalett og dusjblokker var skitne. Et brukt gips var på urinveiene, da vi forlot det var fortsatt der, ingen innsats for å rengjøre mens under oppholdet. Det kaller seg en Eco Village, betyr det at de ikke bruker rengjøringsprodukter eller vann?

Beautifully placed. Friendly staff. A couple of nice walks. And beautiful place to just sit and breath. And swim. And see glowworms. 2 things: 1. The gravel road down there is very narrow. 2. If you request an unpowered site for your campervan, remember to state in your booking that tou sleep in your vehicle and not in a tent.

Beautifully located and isolated campsite. Glowworms and phosphorescent algae in the water made the place feel magical. The road there is pretty rough, and I would not go here in a large motorhome. It was a bit hard to find a level spot for the van. Hot showers were $2 for 4 minutes and coins could be bought at the dairy onsite. Showers could use a cleaning but was functional and the water was hot. The lack of shiny new facilities was 100% made up for by the atmosphere at this campsite

En vakker campingplass med svært vennlige eiere. Du kan leie kajakker og SUP og, med litt flaks, se stingrays. Om natten, lyser vannet, og det er utallige fyrverkeri. For oss, en av de mest magiske stedene i New Zealand.

The view is amazing , but we spent the night there with our camper van and the road is very challenging for a big van. The toilets and showers are disgusting and even the kitchen was during not clean in the evening. It is ok if you are staying one night but not recommendale for longer stays.

Lovely setting and welcoming owners. Showers/ toilets/ kitchen all clean. Kayaking around the bay in the day was great and the glow worms and Phosphorescence waters was a real highlight to our trip.
