There is moderate risk of severe thunderstorms with localised downpours (25 to 40 mm per hour) for Northland until this evening.
Rainfall of this intensity can cause surface and/or flash flooding, especially about low-lying areas such as streams, rivers or narrow valleys, and may also lead to slips.
Driving conditions will also be hazardous with surface flooding and poor visibility in heavy rain.
Note: A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favourable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. People in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and monitor for possible Severe Thunderstorm Warnings.

Hva en spasertur! Gjorde hele sløyfen og den er lang, men jeg angrer ikke på det! Du får en blanding av strand, busk og board walk. ganske få opp og ned, men mulig for alle! Sjekk tidevannet for den første delen i Paihia og bare nyt. Ta en kaffe eller en øl i Russell som en belønning?
Vi likte virkelig denne turen, begynte i daggry og så den mest fantastiske soloppgangen da vi gikk langs stranden.

Such a nice walk :) Quite long if you're doing a return but we just did it one way, took the ferry to Russell and hitchhiked back again to Paihia.
