Only 4 spots so arrive early, we stayed one night late April and were the 3rd spot at around 4pm! All 4 full by 7pm. Quiet location, felt safe, police were around on the morning but no bother they seemed to be checking things were quiet? Robo toilet other end of the car park, open during daylight hours. Nice reserve and bike tracks nearby. Good view of Kapiti Island

Great place to stay, very calm and quiet during the night (even on a saturday night). Locals were friendly and had a chat. We had a stunning sunset and saw some beautiful birds. There was a clean toilet which even played music haha.

Very lovely campsite with a clean robo-toilet nearby! The toilet appeared to be closed after 8pm.

Pretty cool spot, decent toilets. Only problem, some local kids came up to us to tell us that at 8pm people would come and ask us for money to stay on the pitch. Of course it's false and it was meant to scare us, but we left because we didn't want to be bothered and disturbed during the evening.

Veldig rent sted. Vi ankom ved 6pm og det var tomt. 4 steder for gratis Campersite. Og toaletter er ved inngangen.

Litt rogue kanskje, men etter frihet camping rundt New Zealand i 8 uker, dette var mitt favorittsted! jeg bodde to ganger - en gang i slutten av februar og deretter igjen i begynnelsen av april. i februar, jeg ankom kl. 1pm og de 4 stedene var fulle ved 5pm; i april var det fortsatt ledige plasser hele natten. Det er absolutt fantastisk å gå rundt og se over elven, innsjøen, og deretter havet bare på den andre siden av sanddynene.

Et godt og kanskje bedre alternativ er Otaki Beach.

At 6 p.m. all places are full or overcrowded. We won't take the risk of a $400 fine.
