Camping prohibited! You can't can here.. stop before sign.
Beautiful spot with a phenomenal view at the mountains. Bumpy road and lots of sandflys tho. We tried to eat outside but had to move inside because we‘ve been attacked all the time. There‘s also a nice walk to the „carew fall“ and at night we saw glowworms on the way to the waterfall!!!
Beautiful, quiet spot. Clean toilets. Unfortunately there are quite a lot of sandflies, so be prepared. Definitely don’t miss a night walk on the Carew Falls Track — in good conditions you can see lots of glowworms along the way. Truly beautiful and magical.
We first tried Iveagh Beach quite late, around 11 pm. It was completely full. So we drove the half hour further to here. Yes, the gravel road here isn't great, with a slight corrugation and a few potholes, but it's manageable. The campsite was completely empty. It was a bit eerie because it was so secluded and quiet, but everything was fine in the morning. Nice spot and good toilets.
Nice and quiet spot. Missing flat area but it's not bad. Just one other campervan. Very nice toilets.
We followed directions on the campsite for Mitchell’s scenic reserve because we were hesitant on this campsite from the review of 2 girls saying they got spooked. It was such a nice campsite (despite how sloping it was and the unsealed road on the way in). We arrived during the day and were the only ones here. The water is so close by and the toilets look new and were clean (but are long drops and there’s no running water)
We did not end up staying the night here, because we got spooked on the drive in. We drove in at night and the gravel road that took us in from Kumara was god awful, big pot holes and big boulders of gravel for our Apollo campervan. We did not make it to the campsite because the vibes were off from the town, and we had not felt scared elsewhere in NZ. We were two girls and turned around almost immediately after being on the gravel road and stayed in Hokitika instead
Grate spot kan ikke camping rett på vannet, men fortsatt bra.
Nydelig sted å bo. Nye toaletter og undercover område. Campingområdet er ikke godt merket.
