My advise its the opposite, get a big boat, you will be able to move around freely and take good pictures with height perspective without soaking yourself to much and fighting with other people. Mitre Peak tour its nice as others but I found the boat totally disappointing in size comfort and interior usability. There are only very few spots to enjoy the views without looking through window glass, be aware.
Book t’he smaller boat possible. It’s easier for them to plau with dolphins or to get close to a waterfall. In this moment is Mitre Peak.
So amazing! Beautiful waterfalls, was fun driving really close to them. If you don't wanna get wet better bring a good rain jacket. We also saw penguins, seals and many dolphins chasing the boat!! Really recommend juicy super friendly young crew :)
Amazing!! Loved every second of it. Was so quiet with covid and cheap prices on cruises, get here and do them!! saw dolphins and had beautiful sunshine everywhere
A lot smaller than I thought Milford sound would be. Awesome drive in, beautiful scenery and worth a stop off on the way to potentially see a few Keas. (Don’t feed them though) Not much to do at the end unless you have booked a cruise. Myself and my partner went on a 2 hour Jucy cruise and it was AMAZING!! Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Captain was so awesome, getting us nice as close to waterfalls, stopping off to see seals and penguins, also had really good commentary. Would 100% recommend!!
We were really exited to see Milford Sound, but were disappointed in the end. We took a Jucy Bus from Queenstown which drove for 6 hours with a few stops. When we arrived, we got onto the Jucy Boat and had a 2 hour cruise. The views were nice, but not spectacular and it was rainy, cold and windy. After the cruise we got onto the bus for another 5 hours and arrived in Queenstown at 9 p.m.. In total, we wouldn't really recommend a day tour from Queenstown because you spend over 10 hours in a bus only to see Mountains and water (which you can see quite often in New Zealand).
Wow, what an amazing place. There is not a lot to see here unless you have booked a cruise. If you have then you are in for a treat. We went with Fiordland Discoveries. They are brilliant. Dave (captain) was very informative. Jack and Drew could not do enough for us and Chris (Chef) makes a fabulous crayfish risotto. The boat is very luxurious and the overnight cruise was worth every penny. Thanks guys, for an experience we will never forget. Tim & Nicola.
Don't shy away in bad weather, it's the only time you'll see the zillion waterfalls that vanish 30min after showers! If you go on a cruise, consider booking online in advance or using a voucher from a free aa travel magazine.
Amazing! We did Jucy boat 1,5h on a rainy Day, it was sooo good! We saw like 200 waterfalls and drive really really close to 2 big. We also saw 1 delfin that was playing around so mutch! MUST DO!!!!! 10/10 /Sweden IG:RICKYSTORBERG
If you’re going to do a boat trip, recommend doing one that goes through the waterfalls otherwise it’s pretty boring. We did the jucy cruise (newer boat)
