Você não pode dirigir para este acampamento, mas você pode sair da estrada e estacionar logo antes e depois da entrada para a pista para o site e caminhar 10 minutos, ou andar de bicicleta para este tentsite à beira-mar. O site tem um abrigo de cozinha e banheiro de gotejamento longo, bem como botões que o alertam para ferver a água antes de beber. O site está ao lado de um par de caminhadas agradáveis, uma fácil para cair Kauri ou uma caminhada mais desafiadora para uma velha fábrica de madeira e estação de pesca de baleias ou as trilhas de trem. Sem tráfego aqui, apenas o som dos pássaros e peixes saltar.

This campsite is not boat access only. We got dropped off at the road and watched the 15 minute track to the camping area. It overlooks the Whangaparapara estuary. It is near the hot springs which we didn't check out as it was a much farther walk than we anticipated. There is a sign that says there is glass in one of the hot springs. Water must be boiled here. One long drop toilet. Thousands of mosquitoes. Be prepared for that. If you walk past the wharf, around the rocks, there is a cave and lots of beautiful crystals. It was the highlight for me. The highlight for my sister was the fishing. Stunning spot. But just be prepared, because it is a mission to walk to the closest town. Locals are awesome though, hitchhiking encouraged.
