Only the 4 or 5 yellow marked slots are for freedom camping. Sleeping at another spot was leading to a 400 NZ$ fine. By ranger at night. Nice experience for our 1st night in NZ

Felt very lucky to sneak in a night here before it closed off for the season. Facilities are great, beautiful outlook to the beach. Very safe. 5 standard car parks available.

Really nice place to stay, outdoor showers (cold water), clean toilets (compared to some free camps). If there is place absolutely worth to stay overnight.

If space is available, cool place with restrooms, cold shower and water station.

Very nice place, nicer than the other freecamp next to the surf camp. 4 pitches, 2 cold showers, toilets and drinking water point. Next to a children's playground, but it's really not a problem. Please note that the freecamp is not allowed between mid-December and February.

Ficamos aqui por duas noites. Em ambas as noites havia lugares vazios. Os banheiros não eram tão limpos e os banheiros estavam cheios (provavelmente porque era em um fim de semana). Em ambas as noites um ranger veio para verificar os caminhões e tirou fotos das placas, mas nada mais. Os lugares de estacionamento estão ao lado de algumas crianças playground para que tivéssemos barulho muito cedo. Além disso, é um bom lugar para ficar. Muito seguro e bem na frente da praia. também tem mesas e bbq.

Ótima localização na praia. 5 pontos, mas havia apenas 4 (eu tive o último), porque os grandes campistas estavam ocupando muito espaço.Não havia papel higiênico no banheiro e não havia luzes, então os banheiros eram um pouco assustadores à noite como uma mulher solitária, mas é assim que eu acho.Nenhum ranger veio e havia algumas outras furgonetas estacionadas nos pontos não SC, então aproveite suas chances especialmente perto do final do verão
