We wanted to stay here but when we arrived it looked like an abandoned trailerpark. A lot of old campers with the curtains closed standing side by side. It was raining and we thought it was a bit spookey so did not stay here. We stayed at the campground next to this one (great stay!) And while we stayed there, we saw 2 other vans drive up to the other campground and turn around as well.

We went to the first campsite on this road...Mac Gregor and it was nice! The lake was nice and there are clean toilets. There is no drinking water only rainwater. We walked the track that started 2 km away from the campsite and it was beautiful.

Lovely drive to and location by the lake. Very nice lady on site cleaning the loos but we didn’t need to use them as we are self contained. Not expensive for the location , very quiet, chilled vibe and peaceful and great breakfast on picnic bench overlooking the water. Very easy to get to and so much better than the freedom site on the road just outside Tekapo which looked souless. No issue or even aware of permanent residents who are in a different section. We did have phone signal.

Avoid at all costs! $15 per person for absolutely no services, just a dry toilet with no toilet paper, no water, no showers, no internet connection. It's just a parking lot; the only positive point is the nice view of the small lake.

Very quiet and peacful but not spooky, beautiful view. Basic toilets, no water, some light in the toilets during night. Awesom place when you want get away from the busy Lake Tekapo. No cellular receiption

Vibe estranho, parecia ser apenas um par de lugares para estacionar. Bela vista, muito silencioso. Vibe muito estranho com residentes permanentes e caravanas. Quase se sentir indesejado lá. Bom lugar para ver e vale a pena ir verificar. Não era a minha vibe, mas. Senti-me se eu fizesse um barulho ou algo errado, eu seria expulso.

Que ótimo lugar para ficar, longe da turbulência do Lago Tekapo! Passamos uma noite neste lugar incrível, sob um belo céu noturno. Estávamos completamente sozinhos. Tão pacífico, por apenas 20$. Nós amamos isso ! Os banheiros são finos e limpos, com papel higiênico fornecido.

Lindo lugar com uma bela vista do lago. Como outros já mencionaram, este é na verdade o acampamento do lago McGregor. Alguns caravanas permanentes no local, mas muito espaço para campistas com pontos de barro bastante elevados. Os banheiros são muito bons para cair soltos e um sanitizador de mãos está disponível, você precisa trazer seu próprio rolo de loo, no entanto. Você precisará de dinheiro para a caixa de honestidade, a $ 10 por cabeça foi melhor valor do que a maioria dos sites DOC que ficamos e muito mais bonito imo.

Chegou aqui mais tarde no dia e ainda muito espaço! Vista fantástica do lago e estrelas surpreendentes à noite! Os loos são cheirosos e você precisa do seu próprio rolo de loo. Mas há água para lavar etc. Não para beber. Há residentes permanentes, mas eles estão fora do local do acampamento você não perto deles. Cada lugar tem uma grande vista altamente recomendado!
