Beautiful place to relax and unwind. Stayed 2 nights paid nothing for a permit online. Alot of places to park.

Maravilhosa vista paisagística da praia para acordar, mas muito barulhento como direito ao lado de uma estrada principal. Lavagem de banheiros com chaminés. Toque para lavar pratos, não beber água. Estação de dumping. Deve ter uma permissão apresentada ao conselho antes de acampar.

Uma bela vista e direito na praia, mas também em uma estrada movimentada. Muitos copos de vidro quebrados e pilhas de lixo. Não foi limpo em um tempo, como muitos resíduos enterrados na areia. Uma das piores praias que eu já estive na NZ. Estou feliz que eu não doei o $ 18 inteiro como recomendado. Com base nesta localização, eu sugeri que o conselho de Gisborne desencoraje os visitantes fora do acampamento. Tem tanto potencial. Usar sapatos. Não traga crianças ou animais. Não bom.

Tenho sentimentos mistos sobre o Gisborne Council e como eles não gerenciam seus próprios sites quando temos que pagar US $ 18 por noite.Certamente a vista é incrível, mas há lixo nas ruas e um banheiro que é grosseiro.

An amazing stopover on the coast. Toilets and rubbish with permit. So close to Gisborne but road busy with logging. Stay 2 nights and chill.

Closed outside of daylight savings, gorgeous drive along the coast though.

There are two zones - one from Sept to April and one from 26 Dec to 1 Feb. It isn’t clear where the second zone starts so we parked close to the toilets (and others were parked further along than us) but were approached by a friendly council officer in the morning to tell us we were in the wrong place. So our advice is to stay on the other side of river to be sure.

Not a good place to turn up at if you are an overseas visitor just traveling independtly, having to book these places needs too much foresight and is too difficult to plan if you have only limited time.

This is a lovely spot, but not great if you want a quiet nights sleep. The logging trucks were roaring past all night.

Beautiful spot! Gorgeous sunset! We stayed closer to the point end. It's basically a thin strip between the road and beach, road very busy due to time of year probably. Still, very lucky to turn up and get a space for 2 families on New Year's Day!
