Pequeno local ao lado do lago. Eu acho que talvez 10 veículos podem estacionar sem sobrecarregar. As moscas eram um problema, mas basta trazer seu spray. Junto ao lago e 3 opções para caminhadas. Boa sinalização na localização. Drop toalete é o que você espera. Muito silencioso à noite. Se muito ocupado ou muitas moscas, o acampamento 7km na estrada é uma boa alternativa. Muitos mais espaços lá em cima. Sem sinal, então se você estiver vindo baixar mapas com antecedência.

O lago é incrivelmente bonito, mas o local é apenas um estacionamento comum sem nenhuma vista. O banheiro não é o melhor, mas usável. Planejamos ficar aqui durante a noite, mas por causa da enorme quantidade de borboletas que decidimos mover... Ainda recomendamos altamente visitar o lago, também a caminhada através da floresta para o ponto de vista é incrível! Para chegar lá você tem que dirigir uma estrada de barro de 20 km, mas está em boas condições e deve ser bom para quase qualquer veículo. Não há sinal.

Fiquei aqui por uma noite e foi maravilhoso! Há um banheiro de gotejamento, bancos de piquenique e água que precisa ser fervida antes de consumir. É ao lado de uma fazenda de cervo e está apenas a 6 km do Lago Hauroko! Como uma cabeça para cima, é uma longa estrada de barro para chegar a este local. As moscas não eram muito ruins. Muitos lugares para estacionar.

Us and one other van stayed much closer to the lake last night, there are two grass, muddy pull-ins. Was lovely. Very peaceful but more sandflies as closer to the water. Also that area is under CCTV, but fine if you don't mind that. Rained over night and other van nearly got bogged, so be careful. Find us on Instagram if you like @twoguysvanlife and @saltyskin

Nice and clean simple grassy campsite. No frills but we liked it also because it’s close to lake Hauroko and has less sandflies ... Because the Lake has tons of them ... Btw if you don’t like mice don’t park too close to the woods. The tiny cute things checked us out quickly to see if there was something to eat. They didn’t stay around for long tho. Probably best to keep food well packed up.

Super hike! Plan hiking boots, it does not hurt! We did it in 2h30, the view at the top is great, worth seeing. You can even sleep on the spot before or after!

The track to the lookout (3hr return) is definitely recommended. It’s very steep towards the stop and mucky in parts. A little tough if you’re not too fit but worth it!

The 3hr track to the lookout is very steep and pretty hard to climb, but definitely worth it! Very nice 180 degree view. If you're in good shape you'll probably need less than 3hrs. The bush walk is... Well, a bush walk. Nice but nothing special. Still, if you have time you should definitely check out this lake!

Currently very wet and some complicated river passages, it climbs well and it's slippery. You will not see anyone!

The Bluff Lookout Track (3 hours return) is very nice :) We did it in 2 hours. Be prepared to climb slippery roots. Very remote and quiet. Great lookout over the lake and mountains from the bluff.
