Very nice for breakfast or picnic. Small fishing hut with very interesting explanations on the history of the village founded by gold diggers. Be careful, wooden planks slide a lot in wet weather! Have seen a heron from afar. Many sandflies.

Beautiful blue water and with clear weather you have a great view at mountain tops.

Beautiful lagoon, great for kayaking, we picked up a guide booklet from the Franz doc office which gave kayaking info. Saw the white heron and the boys caught a trout. The beach is also fantastic. Views of Mt Cook and Mt Tasman before the cloud came over.

Well if we love birds, I saw the famous white heron, the junction between ocean and lagoon is also very pretty to see
