Embandond. Rlly terrible campsite, looks like it hasn’t seen any matenence in years. The grass is so overgrown there wouldn’t be anywhere to camp anyways. Really desmil and sad. I moved on and decided to find somewhere else as this place was rlly poor and sketchy.. :(

The outhouse is located in the middle of the woods, about 200 meters from the campsite, and you have to cross a small river to get there (the path is paved, but the water still flows across). We had very few sandflies. Locals were also there, playing music and making a fire (it was a Friday, so that was probably the reason). Overall, it was perfectly fine for one night. Hiking was also possible from there. The downside: no cell service.

We arrived late a night and were completely alone! Nice campsite! Lots of sandflies - we didn't spend much time outside..

Be careful, the barrier was closed with a padlock and it was indicated closed for the winter, so we had to go much further to Okaihau.

Wanted to stay there for the night. Apart from the fact that you have to walk around 200m to the toilets on that path are a lot of holes filled with water and also a river with a concrete path, but 10cm under water…

The restrooms are on the other side of the river; you can't drive over them, and in heavy rain, you can't walk over them either. The campground was pretty wet and muddy; you couldn't drive on it. We parked in the roundabout at the entrance, where there was gravel and rocks. No cell reception.

Pașnic, minunat pentru o oprire de noapte liniștită - stelele au fost incredibile, deoarece se simte ca și cum ați fi în mijlocul unei jungle. Dar fiți avertizați dacă a plouat în ultimele zile (sau poate doar în toamnă / iarnă) nu puteți traversa râul la toaletă. Puteți încă să parcați pe grajd lângă intrare, au existat o mulțime de spații libere. A fost, de asemenea, un localnic super prietenos care sa oprit pentru o discuție de dimineață.

Atât de multe țânțari în toamnă, am plecat.

Peisaj uimitor. Există un semn care spune că facilitățile sunt închise (poți ajunge încă la toaletă pe jos, dar trebuie să traversezi un râu, este un pic alunecoasă, dar este ok).

Frumos loc împădurit cu tone de spațiu. gleznele au fost mâncate în viață de bug-uri, vă recomandăm șosete / cizme. NU vă conduceți mașina peste pârtie la toaletă, deoarece există o groapă masivă, inevitabilă pe cealaltă parte. Va trebui să mergeți peste placa de beton, prin apă (aproximativ 6” adâncime cel mult). Unele zgomot de trafic, dar nu rău.
