Decent free site and the view from the beach is priceless. Room for around 10 or 12 vans of people get creative. Easy dirt road. No facilities, shade, protection from wind or bins. Pack it in, Pack it out. When we stayed it was quiet with no idiots. Beach was beautiful at sunset with people taking chairs and eating dinner there. Minimal sandflies but I can see how based on the location it could get bad. Wear your bug net and gloves to the beach and you’ll be alright. Spotty cell coverage.
3km of gravel to get down but absolutely fine. No facilities just a car park. No service. Quite flat and can see the beach
There's room for about 10 vehicles. There's no cell phone signal. The area is very exposed to the wind. The beach is right next door for a walk. I see many vehicles that aren't self-contained but have the sticker and are rinsing their dishes on the grass. They leave their garbage bags outside the vehicle overnight, and in the morning, two kiwis were tearing and eating the rubbish... what a disgrace!
There's room for about a dozen vans. No toilets. Beautiful beach nearby! Too many trash unfortunately because of humans who throw everything… Please take your trash, your toilet paper and tissues !! There's nothing complicated and no smell to put this in your trash bag !! I always put my toilet paper when I have to pee outside (I'm a girl) in our trash bag and there's no smell so please take care of our beautiful planet and think about the animals !!
Simple, quiet, cows in the field next door. Not much internet connection. Small wooden bridge to cross to set up camp. Suitable for a campervan?
Nice little patch to sleep. No amenities and a nice beach next to it. Shame about the disgusting pigs that don't dig a hole when they go for a poo, or take their toilet paper with them! SHAME ON YOU! There will be no free camps left in NZ if you treat them like this.
Sandflies in morning and evening but you can hear the ocean & a quick walk down. It is a beautiful wild spot. Filled up in the evening but plenty of space
We arrived late in the evening and still found a spot. Nice campsite close to the beach. No toilets available and access via gravel road.
It's best to avoid this place; there's absolutely nothing after 3 km of gravel.
Lots of spaces which is good, no toilet and there still is flies even this time of year, it’s okay but wouldn’t recommend leaving your doors open. Gravel road to get to site. Very quiet. Also phone signal not great, had one bar but on and off connection.
