Du kan inte köra till denna campingplats, men du kan dra av vägen och parkera strax före och efter ingången till spåret till platsen och gå 10 minuter, eller cykla in till denna tentsite vid vattnet. Platsen har ett kök skydd och lång drop toalett samt klämmor som varnar dig för att koka vatten innan du dricker. Platsen är precis intill ett par trevliga gångvägar, en lätt att Kauri fall eller en mer utmanande promenad till en gammal timmerverk & valfiske station eller spårvagnen. Ingen trafik här, bara ljudet av fåglar och fisk hoppa.

This campsite is not boat access only. We got dropped off at the road and watched the 15 minute track to the camping area. It overlooks the Whangaparapara estuary. It is near the hot springs which we didn't check out as it was a much farther walk than we anticipated. There is a sign that says there is glass in one of the hot springs. Water must be boiled here. One long drop toilet. Thousands of mosquitoes. Be prepared for that. If you walk past the wharf, around the rocks, there is a cave and lots of beautiful crystals. It was the highlight for me. The highlight for my sister was the fishing. Stunning spot. But just be prepared, because it is a mission to walk to the closest town. Locals are awesome though, hitchhiking encouraged.
