We wanted to stay here but when we arrived it looked like an abandoned trailerpark. A lot of old campers with the curtains closed standing side by side. It was raining and we thought it was a bit spookey so did not stay here. We stayed at the campground next to this one (great stay!) And while we stayed there, we saw 2 other vans drive up to the other campground and turn around as well.

We went to the first campsite on this road...Mac Gregor and it was nice! The lake was nice and there are clean toilets. There is no drinking water only rainwater. We walked the track that started 2 km away from the campsite and it was beautiful.

Lovely drive to and location by the lake. Very nice lady on site cleaning the loos but we didn’t need to use them as we are self contained. Not expensive for the location , very quiet, chilled vibe and peaceful and great breakfast on picnic bench overlooking the water. Very easy to get to and so much better than the freedom site on the road just outside Tekapo which looked souless. No issue or even aware of permanent residents who are in a different section. We did have phone signal.

Avoid at all costs! $15 per person for absolutely no services, just a dry toilet with no toilet paper, no water, no showers, no internet connection. It's just a parking lot; the only positive point is the nice view of the small lake.

Very quiet and peacful but not spooky, beautiful view. Basic toilets, no water, some light in the toilets during night. Awesom place when you want get away from the busy Lake Tekapo. No cellular receiption

Märklig vibe, verkade bara vara ett par platser att parkera. Vacker utsikt, mycket tyst. Mycket märklig vibe med permanenta invånare och husvagnar. Nästan känner sig oönskad där. Trevlig plats att se och värt att kolla ut. Var inte min vibe men. Kände om jag gjorde ett ljud eller något fel, skulle jag bli kastad.

Vilket bra ställe att bo, borta från Tekapo Lake turbulens! Vi tillbringade en natt på denna fantastiska plats, under en vacker natthimmel. Vi var helt ensamma. Så fridfullt, för bara 20$. Vi älskade det ! Toaletterna är fina och rena, med toalettpapper tillhandahålls.

Trevlig plats med en fin utsikt över sjön. Som andra har nämnt är detta faktiskt Lake McGregor campingplats. Några permanenta husvagnar på platsen men gott om utrymme för campare med ganska jämna gravplatser. Toaletter är ganska bra för drop loos och hand sanitizer finns, du behöver ta med din egen loo roll dock. Du kommer att behöva kontanter för ärlighet låda, vid $ 10 per huvud det var bättre värde än de flesta DOC webbplatser vi har stannat på och mycket trevligare imo.

Hittade här senare på dagen och fortfarande gott om utrymme! Fantastisk utsikt över sjön och fantastiska stjärnor på natten! Loos är doftande och du behöver din egen loo roll. Men det finns vatten för tvättning etc. inte för att dricka. Det finns permanenta invånare men de är utanför lägret plats du inte nära dem. Varje plats har en bra utsikt rekommenderas starkt!
