Conveniently located near Kings Canyon. Good value for money. Small pool, a (burger) restaurant, and an (expensive) gas station. There's nothing else in the area, so bring your own supplies.
$32.50pp for unpowered pitch. Shower only warm not hot. Disappointing for the price.
Bit too expensive I thought. Obviously it’s dusty as and quite remote. I think it’s a hard time with few tourists coming through. It’s early October 2021. Would probably be great with more people coming through. Washing machines, clothesline’s, pool and phone reception. Camel burger was great.
If you sleep here can hear sounds from dingo. Was nice experience to stay. Unleaded 198.0 shower area was cold. Go to take a shower before sunset. Just 20mins far from kings canyon
Lovely place to stay, lots of room, grass for a swag to camp (although can’t park beside it - just a few metres away), very quiet, awesome starry skies, some shade, there’s a few camp kitchens dotted around so you will likely get one to yourself, they have water, benches and dirty bbqs (don’t use em so don’t care). Showers have the hottest water and the best pressures, everything is clean.
Stayed two nights in May 2021.. The generator that provides power to the station is pretty annoying, such as the constant breezes of sewage smell. Amenities have seen much better days and they are in desperate need to get an update or at least some maintenance and cleaning. I noticed that the insect screens of septic systems are all broken, so no wonder that you are eaten by mosquitos in the evening So - yes, it is pretty expensive for what you get, but you have to consider that this is in the middle of nowhere. You have to watch not to get overcharged on little things too,
At the moment I visited, I was charged for a night at un-powered site. Staff are friendly. Pool is nice. Washing machines are free to use. Restaurant is good (alcohol served) had a classic burger and a beer. One little thing might be considered, is only Optus has mobile signal here and mozzies.
Great place to stay. We were the only ones here. Friendly staff, good burgers, ask for a lift up to the look out for sunset or you won’t find it.
Dont listen to any of the bad reviews. I stayed there with my partner on there on 13/11/20. Its in the middle of nowhere on a working station. The toilets and showers or a bit grubby but they are clean and hygienic its just the red dust and sand gets everywhere. The staff were tip top so very helpful and welcoming. The restaurant does five star burgers i had the bactrian burger: 2x camel patties, egg, pineapple, lettuce, tomato, beetroot... I think that was it but anyway it was sublime oh there was cheese too. The pool if refreshingly freezing we went for a dip around 2pm and were joined by the workers after they clocked off for the day and they were a good laugh great bunch of guys with a lot of tips on what to do on site. For the sunset we went up to tank hill lookout which is just behind the campsite and it was beautiful could have stayed there all night drinking with the workers again. So far one of the best campsites ive stayed at in Australia and i hope to go back again before i go home as they have a lot planned for the site: ATV trail tours and diffrent activities that hadn't been finished when we stayed sadly.
