Bản thân khu cắm trại thật sự rất đáng yêu, nhưng thật không may chúng tôi đã có một trải nghiệm rất đáng sợ trong thời gian lưu trú của chúng tôi. Vào khoảng 10:30pm, đá đã được ném vào xe tải của chúng tôi, đánh thức chúng tôi. Khoảng 10 phút sau, một chiếc xe hơi đáng sợ đến và vây quanh xe tải của chúng tôi trước khi đậu xe gần đó và tắt đèn của nó. Người dân sau đó bước ra với một ngọn lửa và bắt đầu đi bộ về phía xe tải của chúng tôi. Chúng tôi cực kỳ sợ hãi, vì vậy tôi gọi cảnh sát. Cuối cùng, chúng tôi cảm thấy không thoải mái và không an toàn đến nỗi chúng tôi quyết định rời đi.

Nơi cắm trại tuyệt vời. Miễn phí. Khối lượng không gian. Drop toilet khá sạch sẽ. Buổi sáng bên hồ là tuyệt vời. Điều duy nhất tôi sẽ nói là có lẽ không đỗ quá gần khu vực đầu tiên với băng ghế picnic bên mặt nước, chúng tôi đã được đánh thức bởi một nhóm khách du lịch (nhìn giống như một số tour chụp ảnh) chụp ảnh ngay bên ngoài giày của chúng tôi 😂 cho mặt trời mọc.

Long gravel path and steep decent to campsite. Smelly long drops, beautiful surroundings

DOC spacious with many locations on the edge of a lake. To access it by gravel road on 2/3 km but it is done without problems. Only weak point, there are 2 toilets which is widely enough but it could really a lot, he should come clean them (it becomes urgent 😅)

Best site we have done. no shower but large enough, quiet and beautiful.

Around 10:40 pm last night someone vandalized multiple tents including ours.

Didn’t feel safe. At midnight someone is coming and stealing your belongings. Be very careful and aware, catch those bustards

Spacious, peaceful campsite with plenty of room for turning large vehicles. Nestled beside a pretty lake with a canal right behind it. Stunning views across to Aoraki/Mt Cook. Stay on the gravel canal road until you've passed most of the campsite before turning into it. Lake Wardell on the other side of SH8 looked lovely too but is closer to the road.

If you can get over the very smelly long drop, this is a fab campsite. One of the best we've stayed at. Amazing views, sunset & sunrise. We had good phone signal, very important so my other half could listen to the Grand Prix! Plenty of room for all 😊Don't take the first (unsign posted) turning, that road is rutted, continue down the gravel road for 2 km until you come to the sign posted entry.

Quiet from the road. A little challenging to get to with the rutted gravel road. Airplane noise starts at 9am.
