A beautiful spot. One long drop toilet. Lovely views. Very nice small bay. Good for swimming. Road along Kenepuru Sound is open (no road closures until 09/02/2026 according to Marlborough District Council website). Some sections are one lane only but easily manageable in a campervan. We loved it.

Stayed in middle of winter, very special spot. When we visited, the road between Onahau and Portage was closed, but opened for a 30 minute window each day (12pm-12:30pm) so managed to slip in and out for one night. Roadworks aren’t on NZTA but discovered this information as we turned left off Linkwater. Reminder no petrol beyond Linkwater/Havelock, so recommend having a full tank. Long drop in good condition. Sandfleas didn’t bother us at all given the cold weather. Great swim spot!!

It was great! Has water though not potable and a long drop. Stunning views. Pretty large quiet area with beach right there.

As they say, 55 minute scenic (ie winding) drive in from Linkwater. Very quiet some good spots. Best is far right as you drive in!

55min drive to get to cove was very pretty. Lovely spot. Nice and quiet. Great place to stay.

Unbelievably picturesque. Wendy and William the wekas were hilarious. Had the place to ourselves. The sound of silence was just beautiful.
