nice site! there is an area for short term campers but it was a bit swampy, and there was also a contradicting sign by the lake that is should be left free for boat access.. lots of permanent campers, but most of them were empty at this time, except for 3. no short termers besides us. it was peaceful, toilets clean (with hose down “flush”). 10$ into honesty box per vehicle. about 10km gravel road leads there, lots of dust. Mount Sunday (“Edoras”) is another 15km gravel up ahead

Vi boede på Lake Camp gratis campingplads lige før Lake Clearwater og det var fantastisk, 3 rene toiletter. Kun 4 andre campere der, men vi var spredt godt adskilt.

Vi boede i en nat for 10 NZD pr. Køretøj. Meget nice og rene toiletter. Ekstra steder for korte nat campere. Perfekt for vindsurfere, kan du gå rundt om søen. Kørsel via lang græsplæne vej, som var fint.

Great site for sleeping: next to the lake and surrounded by mountains. It gets quite crowded in summer so be sure to arrive early. For eating there are spaces with tables and benches. You can swim in the lake, the water is quite cold but it’s worth it! It costs $10 per vehicle for one night and deposits the money in an honesty box. As for the toilets, they are quite functional but there are a lot of insects (flies, sandflies and mosquitoes), no drinking water.

We didn’t stay here as were intimidated by the permanent camper and. Stayed at Lake Camp instead, which you drive past on your way to Clearwater. This was amazing, lots of space right on the lake, very peaceful, spotless toilets which looked brand new.

Meget smuk udsigt over de omkringliggende bjerge og meget fredelig. Den korte tid campingpladsen er efter karavanerne. Pas på et hul af myg. De ingen vand toiletter fungerede, men intet at rengøre dem, så de var meget afskyelig

Fuld af permanente karavaner . Nydelig udsigt , rene toiletter . Kan være meget blæsende. Gratis camping ved Lake Camp som er 1 min væk , er meget bedre, men kan være støjende / travlt i højsæsonen fra det, jeg har hørt. Vi havde masser af plads der og kun få mennesker. Begge steder tæt på Edoras (Mt søndag)

Very quiet, people are friendly, toilets ok and there is such a view ! You can hike around the lake or do longer hike like the Mystery Lake one be aware its 8 km of gravel road to arrive in the camp and then 13 more km of gravel road if you want to go to Edoras

No dogs allowed anywhere !

Would recommend, beautiful lake, and toilets are here, smelly but still accessible! Near Edoras
