Well groomed but steep track down, less than 10mins. Totally worth it for the beautiful private Golden beach at the bottom. Well kept toilets too.

Absolute favorite place, I traveled all over New Zealand for 6 months and this place sticks in my mind as one of the most beautiful. Clear water, rays and seahorses spotted snorkeling in the left direction. In addition, numerous scallops and an extraordinary golden stone beach.

Too popular, now that everyone knows about it. Overcrowded, hard to find a spot to park and barely any place to sit. Water temp is okay but be prepared to swallow a lot of leaves.

8/10. Sh*t surfing spot. Waves way too small. They should remove the leaves in the water. Nice table. Not recommend for swimming. 2 big manta rays defending the place. Sand hurts. This spot makes people happy. Walk to the toilets is longer than expected. Plan ahead. No mirror in the bathroom. If the second ray would have shown up again it would be 9/10. Ended August with a beautiful weather We were able to sunbathe on a deserted beach Very relaxing and we saw a sea lion Moment very pleasant! I recommend there is a picnic table at the water's edge

Spectacular view!!!! It’s pouring with rain. Take care driving up and down the winding roads

Super nice spot. The 10min walk is steep and partially muddy after rain. We were completely alone.

OK for a picnic but not for swimming. Many jellyfish that we do not necessarily see!
