Only 4 spots so arrive early, we stayed one night late April and were the 3rd spot at around 4pm! All 4 full by 7pm. Quiet location, felt safe, police were around on the morning but no bother they seemed to be checking things were quiet? Robo toilet other end of the car park, open during daylight hours. Nice reserve and bike tracks nearby. Good view of Kapiti Island

Great place to stay, very calm and quiet during the night (even on a saturday night). Locals were friendly and had a chat. We had a stunning sunset and saw some beautiful birds. There was a clean toilet which even played music haha.

Meget dejlig campingplads med en ren robo-toilet i nærheden! Toilet syntes at være lukket efter 8pm.

Pretty cool spot, decent toilets. Only problem, some local kids came up to us to tell us that at 8pm people would come and ask us for money to stay on the pitch. Of course it's false and it was meant to scare us, but we left because we didn't want to be bothered and disturbed during the evening.

BATHROOMS CLOSE EARLY IN WINTER Otherwise, its a beautiful spot with a nice walk to the beach!

Vi ankom ved 6pm og det var tomt. 4 pladser for gratis campersite. og toiletter er ved indgangen.

En smule rogue måske, men efter frihed camping rundt i New Zealand i 8 uger, dette var mit yndlingssted! jeg boede to gange - en gang i slutningen af februar og derefter igen i begyndelsen af april. i februar, jeg ankom ved 1pm og de 4 steder var fulde ved 5pm; i april var der stadig ledige pladser hele natten. det er absolut fantastisk at gå rundt og kigge over floden, ørkenen, og så havet lige på den anden side af sanddynerne. solnedgangene bag Kapiti Island er uvirkelige.

De eneste 4 steder er hurtigt taget. Et godt og måske bedre alternativ er Otaki Beach.

At 6 p.m. all places are full or overcrowded. We won't take the risk of a $400 fine.
