Die Zeltplätze sind ein wenig klein, aber sollten für die meisten 1-2-Personen-Zelte gut sein.Es ist ungefähr 2-2.5 Stunden zu Fuß, um über die Bushline zur Hütte mit großem Sonnenuntergang zu kommen.

A great option if you want to do the Kepler but want to pay cheaper than the hut fees or the huts are full. We walked in, stayed here overnight, then walked up to Mt Luxmore the next morning and back out. It's a beautiful spot by the lake side. Sure, it's expensive, but you're paying for the Great Walk track and National Park maintenance. If you don't like it, plenty of other places to choose to camp !

Very beautiful here. However for camping, very impractical. It is rooty and uneven. The toilets are also filled to the brim and you have no water. So it has a water tower from which no water comes from. I had no claims to the camping. There is simply a sign saying Please camp inside the yellow marker. So $ 20 is not worth it at all.

A very beautiful campsite on the Kepler track. The downside is that there were a lot of mice running over our tent during the night looking for food. Some other campers were less lucky as the mice ate a hole in their tent. Ah and sandflies of course! Still beautiful. For those looking for fresh water: just around 300m back from the campsite in the direction of te anau there is a small river. Perfect water quality if you don't want to drink from the lake and the tank is empty!

Great campsite on very soft mossy ground that made for a comfortable night sleep. We just walked in for one night - easy walk. The beach is lovely.

Really nice to camp by the shore of the lake after a long day of tramping. The water in the tank didn't look really nice so I drank the water from the lake instead.

Drank the water even though it was green/yellow. Tasted fine... Everyone drinks it with no problems. Don't know why this entry shows there are rubbish bins though... Like all DOC, its carry out what you carry in. And no smoking indicated, please oblige!

I can only agree with the previous comment. After many negative experiences with the DOC, the state of this campground, plus the reaction of the staff was the tip of the iceberg. Apart from the bad water, both dry toilets were completely full. Although the DOC knows it, they don't inform you about it. But they like taking the money, which they won't refund. After asking, they replied they have too many things to do. Amateurs!

Wir verlassen uns auf die Tatsache, dass es hier eine Wasserversorgung gibt. Und es gibt, aber leider ist das Wasser, das aus dem Tank kommt, grün oder gelb. Die Wasserversorgung auf dem Campingplatz Iris Burn stammt auch aus Regenwasser, aber zumindest ist das Wasser klar. Wir mussten es trotzdem kochen und trinken. Andernfalls gibt es einige Sandfliegen und das Geräusch der Wellen war ziemlich ärgerlich (auch mit Ohrplugs).
