The spot itself is good. Nice view over the lake and a working toilet (without paper, bring your own). Unfortunately we were harassed by the kids with the water filled balloons as well. Thx for the warning. Still, wasn’t very nice. We decided to stay, they came twice as well with an hour pause in between. Not a very relaxing stay for us though the rest of the night was quiet.

Die Toilette ist fixiert, und der Ort ist schön. Das Wasser hatte einen seltsamen Geschmack (ähnlich wie bei der Abfallstation) und es war sehr windig. Allerdings wurde um neun Uhr abends eine Gruppe von etwa sechs Kindern gelangweilt und begann mit Wasserballons anzugreifen und auf das Auto zu schlagen. Nach ihrer zweiten Runde von Antiquitäten entschied ich mich, in den Parkplatz Opunake Recreation Ground im Stadtzentrum zu ziehen, wo es ruhig war.

The toilet is still under construction, so right now it's not a very comfortable place to spend the night.

The toilet was demolished on 23rd Feb 2026 and is currently being rebuilt.

A lovely, quiet spot right by the lake and not far from the beach. The toilet had no light, but it was clean and in good condition. The internet was also good. According to the sign, there are six pitches, not just three.

Chill place to stop next to a lake with duckies and so on. Houses about so you feel safe as. Walk down to the beach in 10 min. Rhe pub 5 min walk a great place to hang with locals. Super friendly. Get some!

Great place for NSC enjoyed my stay

Sehr guter Ort für Freiheit Camping, saubere Toiletten und Trinkwasser.

Schöner Ort für NSC direkt neben dem See. Flush Toilette hatte Toilettenrolle, aber keine Seife oder Licht und es gab auch einen Wasserbrunnen.
