HUGE camping area with smooth level grass. Can get boggy after heavy rain, but there is firm ground before the grassy area. We spent 2 lots of 3 nights here, and at the most there were 10 others staying. Don't forget to book online before you arrive, there is no phone signal.

Κλειστό για το χειμώνα! Πήρε χθες, κράτησε, τίποτα στον ιστότοπο, μετά από να περάσει από εκείνη τη μικρή γέφυρα και τις πύλες αναστροφής κλειδωμένη! Ονομάστηκε DOC, μετά τη σύνδεση Starlink ως κανένα τηλεφωνικό σήμα εδώ, είχαν κάνει ένα σφάλμα επιτρέποντας κρατήσεις, είναι επίσημα κλειστό για το χειμώνα, (συνιστάται NZMCA). Η γέφυρα! Oy vey! Είμαστε συνολικά 14 μέτρα, χτυπήθηκε και μου πήρε τρεις προσπάθειες haha! Δυνατό όμως, όταν είναι ανοιχτό!! Πολύ μικρή περιοχή για να γυρίσει γύρω αν οι πύλες κλειδωμένες, οπότε ελέγξτε πρώτα! Είναι πολύ ωραίο. Αλλά λίγο συγκεχυμένο. Στο doc site όλα είναι εντάξει. μπροστά από την κατασκήνωση υπάρχει ένα σημάδι που λέει ότι είναι κλειστό λόγω κλοπής. Αλλά εκτός από αυτό όλα τα άλλα φαίνεται να είναι εντάξει. Δεν υπάρχει απολύτως κανένα σήμα. Κρατήσαμε πριν φτάσουμε εκεί. Είναι όλα χόρτο έτσι με βαριά τρέχει τα ελαστικά δεν θα έχουν καλή πρόσφυση.

One of the best camping places, I have had so far because it was so quiet and in the middle of nature. But there is no Internet or signal.

Freshly mown grass and overall the site is very well presented. Despite the size it’s a quiet spot with only a few campers on a Friday night. Not sure why as it’s a beautiful spot. Bit of a hidden gem.

Got there pretty late due to delayed ferry but managed to pull up to a massive site and pitch up our rooftop tent and had a very quiet sleep. Flush toilets and water you can boil. $20 for 2 cash only.

Really beautiful large site. Only 2 other campers there. Flush toilets and running water. Secluded and peaceful. Bird song by day, silent starry skies by night. Soft grass, no mud when we were there mid January.

What a great spot! As described by others… too big an area to get busy, sunny and shady options, nice amenities, beauty river, no prob with bugs. Most birdsong I’ve heard in upper SI.
