Καταπληκτική διαμονή σε αυτόν τον καταυλισμό, ήρθε αρχικά για 1 νύχτα κατέληξε να μείνει για 3. θέα πάνω από τα βουνά και κοντά σε μια λίμνη. Το μέρος ήταν πολύ ήσυχο και πολλά σημεία στάθμευσης (χειμερινή ώρα) είχα μόνο ένα $ 20 αλλά το πρωί, ένα μέλος του προσωπικού ήρθε να με δει για να μου δώσει $ 5 αλλαγή.

Χωρίς κράτηση, βρήκαμε εύκολα ένα μέρος κοντά στις τουαλέτες. Δεν είχαμε καμία αλλαγή, αλλά συμπληρώσαμε τη φόρμα και το πρωί ο διευθυντής ήρθε με ένα τερματικό πληρωμών. Μια πολύ ήσυχη νύχτα. Η λίμνη είναι κοντά, όπως και το πεζοδρομικό μονοπάτι Bob's Cove, του οποίου κάναμε μόνο ένα τμήμα ενώ αναζητούσαμε το Ithilien (LoTR).

Εμφανίστηκε γύρω στις 8:30 και υπήρχαν πολλά σημεία διαθέσιμα. Όταν μπαίνετε στη διαμονή στη δεξιά πλευρά τα σημεία είναι πιο όμορφα και πιο ανοιχτά, υπάρχει σήμα αλλά είναι πολύ αδύναμο Επειδή εμφανίστηκα τόσο αργά και δεν είχα μετρητά, η κυρία DOC ήρθε γύρω το πρωί λίγο πριν τις 9 με μια μηχανή eftpos, $ 15 πολύ προσιτή!

Beautiful, cheap spot!! Very basic but the sunrise and sunset was beautiful over the mountains! The owners are lovely, and had a chat in the morning when they came around to get card payments! We went right at the entrance, all the way to the bobs cove walk- and camped under some trees! We were the only ones in that section that woke up with no frost on our tent or car, so would recommend in winter. Had 2 bars of 4G with 2degrees, but our friend had no signal with OneNz. Can fill up quickly.

Great place, we stayed 2 nights near the lake. Very clean toilets and with niche picnic tables. There are many locations and 13 min from Queenstown center. No telephone network. Possibility to pay in cash or by card (morning) -> 15$/pp. The DOC pass does not work here (which is a shame to the price at which it is paid).

Great location and extremely quiet. Beautiful sunrise if you’re up early in the morning. We had a bit of service. We didn’t have cash so just paid with card when we left in the morning. Ideal if you’re looking for unpowered slightly out of the main city. Also plenty of space if you go down below the entrance rather than straight ahead

Campground 10 minutes from Queenstown, near the lake. Plenty of sites. Very convenient, with the option to pay in cash or online on arrival or departure day. Several restrooms on site. $15 per person Great!

It's so hard to find a free campsite near Queenstown that we finally decided to try this one. What a pleasant surprise! Even though it's not free, there are clean toilets, plenty of space, non-potable water, and access to the lake. We didn't have any cash on us when we arrived in the evening, but someone comes by in the morning and you can pay by credit card. I give it an 8/10! Very little cell service, but that's not a problem!

May as well be a freedom camp. Good if you can’t get a spot in queenstown. No phone service, portaloos, non drinking water. Only good side is you’re close to the lake. Would be better if queenstown council didn’t limit freedom spots in the centre. Can turn up and pay in the morning if you arrive late.
