We needed somewhere to stay for Australia Day weekend - so booked a campsite (no power) for two nights. We turned up to book in & waited for 5 minutes. We were given approx areas we could camp in that was said to have a view. As we drove around it was very obvious that it was full. The campsites left were only on slopes. I got out of the car to look around & have never felt more intimidated in my life. Large groups were parked all around with no rhyme or reason. People had roped off areas so you could not park near them, others had parked across the road & people were rude to me, drinking & had pack mentalities. As a couple there was no way we could stay there & I am disappointed that NRMA would be involved in this park. There should be areas roped off for large groups with designated space, areas for couples & areas for family groups. Everyone needing boundaries & angles to park in. To me it looked very unsafe if there was an emergency. I have done free camping before and even in National Parks there are designated areas. I have been camping for over 35 yrs & have never felt like this before, my husband felt the same. NRMA this is a park I would not support - we r Gold members & often go to your parks for that reason. We got our money back & left.
