There's no dune here.
We did the sandboarding in the dunes and recommend to hire the board at the shop right at the entrance of the dune area. It was just $5 for 3 hours plus a free water bottle! The hires in town are much more expensive (12$ for 2,5 hours for example). Was really fun! Don’t forget your sunscreen.
Awesome!! Definitly do a quad tour. It is 50$ / 30 mins and absolutly worth the money!
Amazing view on top of the sand dune.Quite impressive, worth it to stop just for a walk, a slide or to drive.I don’t know why it was not in our guide book as it’s quite unique.K&G.?
Go on beacon road, there are board renters. $ 10 a board, $ 15 for 2 for 3 hours. Very good experience, there are different sizes of dunes if you want to have different feelings. But then you have to go back on foot ahah.
We hired a sand board for $20 to use all day at the dunes. They have a little trailer set up at the dunes to hire boards and go on a 4wd tour of the dunes. Sand boarding was so much fun! you can drive up to the sand board hire place past the first car park if you are in a normal car.
Nice dunes though a little crowded. The sliding side faces the town. Though there are several dunes, it's not like a desert at all, and with all the people walking around, you get few pictures with only yourself. You can drive your normal car up close though if you're frightened by all the signs for 4WD accidents, you can leave your car at the beginnig of the dirt road and just walk the about 1,5km to the dunes. It's a nice walk anyway.
Very windy and cold! The sand wasn’t the softest as has been on and off rain, so didn’t hire boards. Most people were getting stuck in the sand, and not sliding down.
Very nice ! The picnic area just before the dunes is very quite and clean!
The kids had fun surfing down the sand dunes. We hired a board for $10 an hour at the local surf shop. We could drive our motor home right up to the sand dunes so we only had to walk up to the top.
