The iconic "Sons of Gwalia Gold Mine" and the adventurous ghost town are practically next door to each other. You can park for free at the museum and explore both on foot. In the ghost town, you can even go inside the houses. Spectacular insights await you. Self-sufficient campervans can park for free for 72 hours at the museum – you must register with the museum beforehand!

Who would have known herbert hoover was a mine manager before he went back to the USA to become a president. The museum is free (donations appreciated) and one of the best in the goldfields if you are going up the highway it's definitely a don't miss!

Loved it! Its been on my list of places to visit for ages, and well worth the visit. Step back in time and see the conditions people lived in.... Imagine the heat, the flies and dust, the freezing temperatures in winter...
