Campground in Auckland, Auckland New Zealand
Tapapakanga Stream CSC Parking Area - From $21
An attractive coastal farm park, Tapapakanga has a rich Maori and European history and offers an accessible, pohutukawa edged beach on the western shores of the Firth of Thames. Located on Deery's Road, this dedicated campervan site offers two locations on the Tapapakanga Stream and Kaparanui Stream.
The sites offer shady stream-side camping. To camp at this site a fully self contained certificate is required as there are no toilets. Limited water is available on site for drinking (boil for 3 minutes).

The 500m walk over the ridge was worth it as an awesome swim on the secluded beach with lovely views of the Coromandel, was waiting on the other side. However, feeding the mozzees that night was less than desirable. We must have locked a few inside the camper. Boy, did we itch the next few days.... The fee per night is somewhat expensive for parking on a patch of lawn in downtown mozzee-turf.
It took an hour to make the booking. As it is a steep, tight entry and the gate opens out, we blocked the road and no room to maneouvre. Nice spot once we got in but too rattled to enjoy it.
A delightful grassy clearing amongst the bush. If you drive to the end of the little gravel road you’ll be able to park beside a beautiful stony stream. I can imagine kids having a lot of fun here. So far only us here, so tranquil yet just a short walk to the beach.
Very nice spot to stay, lovely quiet place with. Lots of bird life.
We parked in beach access carpark, loved it,great view, helpful park ranger, would return
Great spot. We love it when we want a quiet place to go. Easy access for our caravan.
No sea views, disappointing better off in the parking area
May be hard for caravan to access?
