Loved it! Super friendly staff, free apple crumble + breakfast in winter time and lots of lounges and stuff that you can do! (Most of it is during summer time though..) It feels really warm and welcoming, maybe it‘s a little on the expensive side but considering this is very close to the ferries, I think it‘s just fine. Building is old but they really make the best out of it with all the lights and the little fireplace!
Cute backpacker, nice people, clean acommodations but no free crumble during the summer.. I need to come back at winter time.. ?
Nice cute little hostel. Rooms and facilities are clean and there if free and unlimited WiFi. Staff always seemed to be very nice and welcoming. Definitely would recommend staying here!
Friendly staff that makes apple crumble on winter nights to encourage bonding, and the consumption of delicious dessert. Stayed in a twin with an ensuite, very nice.
Cute little place, converted old house. Layout was a bit convoluted, but it made it fun. Stayed in the 10 bunk dorm, tricky plugging things in if you're on top because it's inside the bottom bunk, so I had to wait for that person to wake up in the morning. But the common area was a great place to meet people in the evening and the dining room in the morning. Good for one night
Good but not great. Very friendly staff. Apple crumble is really good. Bit overpriced. Movie room and spa both out of order. Old run down building but has some charm.
Very good yha. So nice and cosy. Clean and the Staff is nice. The Design is very Special and a Little bit like pippi langstrømpe. And the BEST they give You Apple crumble and Vanilla ICE for free. Go and Stay here!
Good hostel with a nice atmosphere Showers and toilets pretty clean throughout Good hostel with nice atmostphere Bathrooms and toilets are cleaned
Great hostel, very nice outside area and comfortable rooms! The staff is very friendly and helpful!
The Villa YHA Picton - From $26
The Villa YHA Picton is a cozy and welcoming hostel with a unique atmosphere, offering a range of amenities and activities. The staff is consistently praised for being friendly and helpful. Guests appreciate the communal areas, including the kitchen, lounge, and outdoor spaces. The hostel's design, which includes a converted old house, is often described as charming and quirky.
The dormitory options are variable, with some guests complaining about thin walls and noise. The hostel's layout is sometimes described as convoluted, but this is also seen as part of its charm. The spa and movie room are sometimes out of order, which can be a disappointment.
A highlight of the hostel is the free apple crumble available in winter months, which encourages social bonding and a sense of community. Prices are sometimes seen as a bit high, but many guests feel that the unique atmosphere and experiences make it worthwhile.
Overall, the Villa YHA Picton is a good option for travelers looking for a social and memorable experience. However, it may not be the best choice for those prioritizing budget or seeking a more budget-friendly option.
