Scenic Spots in Coromandel, Waikato New Zealand
The Coromandel is a great place for beaches and this is one of the best! If you're in this area you have to stop here to see for yourself why Britain's “The Observer” named it in its Top 20 deserted beaches of the world! Accessed via a short nature walk, its gorgeous sandy beach offers a very special place.
Relaxing, beautiful, fun and deserted - what more could you ask for?

Amazing beach, 100 percent recommend. Good for swimming/body surfing as the waves get quite big sometimes. Also a bit of a rip in some spots. Be careful. Lots of seaweed in the water so hope your not scared of it 😝. Accessed by walking across Wangapoua beach to the exposed rocks from low tide. Keep close to the wall as you will find a small trail that takes you a bit higher than the rocks. Follow that and it will take you to where you can go right up to the view point, or straight to the beach. Enjoy!
Check the tide, when I went it was hip deep water at the start to get to the hike.
This beach is really really beautiful! The path in the forest is quite simple to access it, the passage on the rocks is a little slippery. There is a lookout point if you are not afraid to climb the rocks, steep climbs and descents, go there the view is amazing.
Lovely beach, shame we didn’t have more time to spare or we’d have spent longer here. The walk was over rocks so be careful as some will be wet/wobbly.
This is an incredible beach, if you get there early you could have the place to yourselves. Climb over the rocks and watch out for the bouy on a stick that marks the path to the beach.
Check the tides because you might need to wade waist deep though a stream at the start of the walk
We are really happy we did the climb up the lookout. Amazing views and not too difficult. Harder going down than up. Make sure you check the tides before as beach can only be accessed around low tide
Super nice but a rocky path
Very nice. I walked barefoot, my bf half of the distance and our daughter just at the beaches , at the rest we had to carry her. Nice beach. Nice walk.
Don't follow the lead, to access the beach you have to take the first entry to be seen, if you go past the first indications you'll get to the private access.
