Only the 4 or 5 yellow marked slots are for freedom camping. Sleeping at another spot was leading to a 400 NZ$ fine. By ranger at night. Nice experience for our 1st night in NZ

Good place and great view. Just watch out, only the slots on the right side are for self contained. Ranger been there at 10 pm.

Felt very lucky to sneak in a night here before it closed off for the season. Facilities are great, beautiful outlook to the beach. Very safe. 5 standard car parks available.

Great freedom camping. Showers, toilets, changing rooms and water station including bottle filling between the toilet house and the beach

Really nice place to stay, outdoor showers (cold water), clean toilets (compared to some free camps). If there is place absolutely worth to stay overnight.

If space is available, cool place with restrooms, cold shower and water station.

Very nice place, nicer than the other freecamp next to the surf camp. 4 pitches, 2 cold showers, toilets and drinking water point. Next to a children's playground, but it's really not a problem. Please note that the freecamp is not allowed between mid-December and February.

Nos quedamos aquí por dos noches. En ambas noches había lugares vacíos. Los baños no eran tan limpios y las sábanas estaban llenas (probablemente porque era un fin de semana). En ambas noches un ranger vino a comprobar las furgonetas y tomó fotos de las placas pero nada más. Los espacios de aparcamiento están al lado de algunos niños playground por lo que tuvimos ruido bastante temprano. Aparte de eso es un buen lugar para quedarse. Prácticamente seguro y justo delante de la playa. También tiene mesas y bbq.

Buena ubicación justo en la playa. 5 lugares pero sólo había 4 (yo tuve el último) porque los grandes campistas estaban ocupando demasiado espacio. No había papel higiénico en el baño y no había luces por lo que los baños eran algo aterrador por la noche como una mujer solista pero eso es sólo cómo lo hago, supongo. no hubo rangers que vinieran y había algunas otras furgonetas aparcadas en los lugares no SC por lo que tengan sus oportunidades especialmente cerca del final del verano
