Plenty of space, overall good spot. During the week it’s totally worth it. However, we were there on a Friday and some local kids thought it was fun to rattle and kick some vans in the middle of the night. They also peed on the dorrhandles of the vans. They came a couple times, so it must be something they do on weekend nights to pass their boring time.
Plenty of spaces available for winter. Arrived around 6PM Wednesday & there was only one other vehicle parked the whole stay. Right next to the water and lots of birds chirping in the morning. Was quiet but you do hear cars using the lil roundabout at times but it’s no biggie. Bathrooms along the path through the park. Rubbish bin at the start of the car park. Lovely spot.
Great spot to camp in the self contained van, this is more private than the surf club up the road - both are great spots that lots of locals stop at for sunrise and sunset. Worth the drive from Papamoa for a nicer spot.
Love this spot right on the water. Can collect seafood at low tide. Nice park, bbqs, greenspace, and toilet facilities. Quiet at night. Though plenty of traffic coming and going all through the day. People seem to use this parking lot as a turn around loop? So much birdlife!
Cute little place with a lovely view and fantastic fish and chip shop about a two minute walk. Around 9pm several cars parked up and played loud music. They came and went a few times within a couple of hours and then left completely. There was another van that was fishing in the dark too. It was a Saturday night so maybe that’s the go to!
